Secondary School Volunteering
Middle school mentors work side by side with younger students, helping them navigate tablets, troubleshoot Minecraft challenges, and bring their ideas to life in digital worlds. They often assist with setting up devices, explaining game mechanics, and encouraging collaborative problem-solving—all while modeling patience and teamwork.
Not only do they assist elementary students, but they also help Ms. Shigeta with classroom design improvements. Middle school volunteers get the chance to use their creativity in miniature tech projects that could be implemented in future classes. Students may help on Tuesday, Thursday, or both.
